Metal Supermarkets, the world’s largest supplier of small-quantity metals, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our team.  Known worldwide as The Convenience Stores for Metal, we are a business to business brand with over 85 brick-and-mortar stores across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.  We have been providing businesses and consumers with quality customer service and products since 1985.  Our company is experiencing strong growth, and to support that growth we need to expand our team.  Metal Supermarkets has 3 stores across Minneapolis in Roseville, Brooklyn Park and Burnsville.

Objectives

The Inside Sales Representative’s main objective is to service the needs of the customer base that contact us by telephone, email/fax or as walk-in business. This individual is expected to be aware of and support all goals relating to sales plans and costs and to conduct him/herself in a professional manner conducive to generating a team attitude toward maintaining effective customer relationships. This individual will be responsible for in-store sales and customer service, as well as aggressively pursuing new customers by securing new prospect appointments to promote our services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, superior service by ensuring that all customer needs are recognized, serviced, and high customer satisfaction is maintained at all times
  • Achieve sales/budget targets which include attention to maintaining stock control; gross margins and managing cost budget
  • Supervise and contribute to all aspects of running the branch including selling, purchasing, quoting, telesales and material handling
  • Prepare customer orders based on material and size specifications
  • Receive, identify and stock incoming materials as per receiving procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Achieve sales targets
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts
  • Oversee branch sales revenue and cash

About the Opportunity

As Warehouse/Driver you will be responsible for processing orders and making deliveries/pickups to our customers and from our suppliers while maintaining the highest level of service possible.

Responsibilities

  • Cut customer orders using metal cutting equipment such as saws, hydraulic sheer, etc to exact customer specifications
  • Receive, identify and stock incoming materials as required

CORPORATE HEAD OFFICE POSITIONS

ERP Support Specialist (Based out of our Mississauga, ON Corporate Office)

The ERP Support Specialist is an important member of the Information Technology Team and is based in our Mississauga head office. This is a new position as Metal Supermarkets has almost completed the launch of an Openbravo ERP platform across its network of stores. This role reports to the Manager, Information Technology. This role will be responsible for providing store level support across North America and the United Kingdom and will liaise between the Operations and I.T. Departments.

This is a permanent full-time position from Monday to Friday. After hours support is required but that can be done remotely and is generally limited. We provide a competitive salary, comprehensive health and dental benefits and three weeks of annual vacation.

Objectives

The ERP Support Specialist manages in conjunction with the Operations Department, providing application support and developing, delivering and updating all training tools to ensure success of the system throughout our network of stores.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To develop a strong understanding of our business model with emphasis on how the ERP system is integrated and used in our stores’ operations.
  • To develop a high level of proficiency with the ERP in all of its applications.
  • Provide ongoing support to stores.
  • Manage and report a log of system deficiencies and potential enhancements.
  • Have the ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems remotely.
  • Perform user and scripted testing of new releases of the ERP.

IT Support Analyst (Based out of our Mississauga, ON Corporate Office)

The IT Support Analyst is an important member of the Information Technology Team and is based in our Mississauga head office. This role reports to the Manager, Information Technology and will be responsible for providing store level support across North America and the United Kingdom, and will liaise between our Operations and IT Departments. Objectives:

The IT Support Analyst diagnoses, troubleshoots and solves end user desktop application, server, networking, VoIP, PCs, laptops, printers, cell phones, tablets and other hardware. A thorough understanding and support of our ERP software will also be necessary over time.

The Phone Skills Training Specialist is a core member of the Franchise & Operations Team. The position is based in our Mississauga Head Office however some home office may be possible. This role will work closely with the respective Franchise Business Consultant to deliver constant phone skill improvement. This role reports to the Director, Franchise Support & Operations.

Objectives

The Phone Skills Training Specialist delivers and supports constant improvement of inbound phone skills across the entire network to improve efficiency, service levels, customer satisfaction and sales.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete phone assessments and provide analysis across the entire network.
  • Coach/train/re-train franchisees, managers and their staff on inbound phone skills.
  • Produce effective benchmarking reports.
  • Continually assess stores’ phone skill training needs to address and overcome common obstacles.
  • Educate and support Metal Supermarkets’ Vision, Mission and Core Values.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Health & Safety Program.
  • Support an engaging, trusting, mutually profitable relationship between franchisees and the franchisor.
