Current franchisee set to expand metal supply offerings with second store

December 12, 2024 | Toronto, Ontario – Metal Supermarkets announced today that it has signed a franchise agreement to bring their fast and convenient metal supply to businesses and consumers in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Ed DeStefano, who opened his first Metal Supermarkets store in Danbury, CT in 2022, has signed to open his second store and Metal Supermarkets’ second Connecticut location.

Offering over 8,000 types, shapes and grades of metal, cut to each customer’s exact specifications, Metal Supermarkets offers convenience, speed and world-class customer experience, and will be the one-stop-shop for manufacturers, machinists, maintenance and repair, tool and die shops, hospitals, hotels, universities, schools, homeowners, artists, hobbyists and more in Bridgeport.

“I originally invested in a Metal Supermarkets franchise because I enjoyed working in the metal industry and I liked the Metal Supermarkets track record, system and brand allowing me to work directly with customers,” said Ed DeStefano. “Based on my positive experience owning and operating the Danbury Metal Supermarkets, I’m looking forward to opening in Bridgeport and am excited by the potential this business offers.”

The franchise agreement for Bridgeport comes amid a pivotal growth phase for Metal Supermarkets. With locations open across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, the company is executing a strategic expansion plan to add 8 new stores in the coming months. Metal Supermarkets provides a recession-resistant, innovative and durable opportunity for interested franchise investors.

“Ed DeStefano has achieved rapid initial success with his store in Danbury and we’re confident he is fully prepared to expand to the Bridgeport market,” said Stephen Schober, President and CEO of Metal Supermarkets. “Our goal is to build a strong network of business owners like Ed who demonstrate the drive, and the business acumen needed to achieve success as part of the Metal Supermarkets franchise system. We are excited to have Ed sign on for a second store as he works towards achieving his business and financial goals.”

Metal Supermarkets is actively awarding locations to qualified individuals like Ed who have strong business acumen and customer service experience. The Metal Supermarkets franchise opportunity is best suited for the owner-operator franchisee who is looking to build an income and create a lasting, profitable business in their local market. The moderate investment range for a Metal Supermarkets location is between $430,500 to $592,500, and qualified owners must have a minimum of $150,000 in liquid capital to be considered. Qualified U.S. military veterans can take advantage of a $5,000 reduction off the initial franchise fee.
