Franchisor general counsel to transition to business ownership

March 5, 2025 | Toronto, Ontario – Franchise executive Russell Kruse, formerly General Counsel for a billion dollar-plus multi-national franchisor, has determined to bring fast and convenient metal supply to North Texas by signing a franchise agreement with Metal Supermarkets.

Kruse possesses franchise knowledge, previously contributing as general counsel and executive team member to a multiple brand franchisor. Prior to that, his background includes working as an attorney with a variety of law firms.

“Having experience in many franchise systems, the combination of niche focus and corporate support made signing with Metal Supermarkets an easy business decision,” said Kruse. “Metal Supermarkets fills a steady and enduring customer need that will benefit the high growth environment of North Texas.”

The franchise agreement for North Texas comes amid a pivotal growth phase for Metal Supermarkets. With locations open across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, the company is executing a strategic expansion plan to add 8 new stores in the coming months. Metal Supermarkets provides a recession-resistant, innovative and durable opportunity for interested franchise investors.

“With recognized franchising expertise, we’re pleased that Russell has chosen to join the Metal Supermarkets network to help us expand into the North Texas market,” said Stephen Schober, President and CEO of Metal Supermarkets. “Our goal is to build a strong network of business owners like Russell who demonstrate the drive, and the business acumen needed to achieve success as part of the Metal Supermarkets franchise system. We are excited to have Russell sign on for his new store as he works towards achieving his personal, business and financial goals.”

Offering over 8,000 types, shapes and grades of metal, cut to each customer’s exact specifications, Metal Supermarkets offers convenience, speed and world-class customer experience, and will be the one-stop-shop for manufacturers, machinists, maintenance and repair, tool and die shops, hospitals, hotels, universities, schools, homeowners, artists, hobbyists and more in North Texas. Metal Supermarkets is actively awarding locations to qualified individuals like Russell who have strong business acumen and customer service experience. The Metal Supermarkets franchise opportunity is best suited for the owner-operator franchisee who is looking to build an income and create a lasting, profitable business in their local market. The moderate investment range for a Metal Supermarkets location is between $430,500 to $592,500, and qualified owners must have a minimum of $150,000 in liquid capital to be considered. Qualified U.S. military veterans can take advantage of a $5,000 reduction off the initial franchise fee.
