Posibilidad de comprar en el almacén local. El personal de oficina y de logística fue amable y profesional. Tramitaron mi pedido con eficiencia y lo embalaron de forma segura para su transporte.

Sin embargo, el material parecía ser de segunda mano o una devolución. Tubos de aluminio 6063 de 1 x 1 x 1/16. Debería haberlo revisado antes de recorrer 64 kilómetros de vuelta hasta el lugar de mi proyecto.

El material no llevaba ninguna indicación del fabricante ni del tipo o temple. Las tres piezas de 24 pies que compré presentaban arañazos y marcas considerables. Dado que el 6063 se comercializa como material «arquitectónico» —es decir, material destinado a aplicaciones estéticas—, este lote no podía utilizarse para aplicaciones visibles. Mi impresión es que se trata de aluminio chino barato, que no cumple con las especificaciones o que se desvía de ellas.

He pulido el material después de la fabricación con Scotch-Brite. Espero que aguante bien para usarlo como estante en mi remolque cerrado (donde no estará expuesto a la intemperie). En futuras compras, prestaré más atención a la calidad de los materiales.

I find it very convenient that Metal SuperMarkets cuts the metal to the exact size I need. Their large machinery produces a very clean cut so that I was able to take the cut expanded steel sheet and directly weld it into place – very nice. Since their metals are stored inside, I also appreciate that it wasn’t covered in rust which saves me time and makes for a cleaner finished product.
