Sharpen the blade on your sheer ! It leaves an edge with divits instead of a clean smooth cut. It also leaves a significant edge on the bottom that needs to be filed off which consumes time. if it was sharp this could be avoided. I understand the down time but most businesses that use a sheer as much as you would have a second set ready to be installed while the other is sent out for sharpening. This minimizes the down time. Even though you may only sharpen the blade once in 3 years.
