Artist Uses Metal For Legacy Creation to Honor 9/11 Victims

Local Metal Supermarkets stores in Indianapolis are helping a globally recognized artist create a truly national monument to honor those remembered in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Marine veteran and former Military police officer, Gavin Goode is the artist and owner of SemperFly Studios founded almost 22 years ago. His specialty is creating fine arts and design with a reputation of delivering high-end art paintings on any surface including steel paintings for celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg, Usher and Snoop Dogg

Gavin was commissioned by the Enlisted Association of the National Guard to create a memorial for this year’s 9/11 remembrance ceremony and in doing so took on his most challenging work to date.

Gavin said: “The team at Metal Supermarkets is always reliable and always meet my unique art-based metal request needs. I purchased a 9-foot copper sheet from Metal Supermarkets for my art piece to emulate the material used in the Statue of Liberty. The art is intended to reflect the symbol of unity and peace – a common theme for everyone.”

Gavin plans to unveil the memorial with a speech on September 11 at the top of the One World Trade Center in New York City and then accompany the art piece to the Flight 93 National Memorial Pennsylvania site, the Pentagon and finally to the National Museum in Washington, DC where future guests can admire the art creation.
