Frankly for a hobbyist, the Beltsville store is the only game in town. Am not sure how competitive you folks are to Lowes & HomeDepot. It would be nice to know. Perhaps someone could do some market research to look at your price points. Too bad it’s location is hard to get to and is a hole in the wall. No real convenient parking.
If your costs comparisons are better, make it known so the location inconvenience wouldn’t be an issue. Do what Harbor Freight does with their brand’s cost comparison to leaders.

Morris Donaldson was most helpful. Busy guy but he responded clearly when there was a glitch when ordering the Sch 80 aluminum pipe piece. It’s really, really important the folks answering E inquiries and offering quotes take a little interest in the customer and offer more complete answer other than, “No stock on sch 80.” And whether or not it can be available, time frame for delivery from PA warehouse, etc. We may be a small volume, occasional customer but need to be felt we are valued. Morris did a good job and we prefer to deal with him.

Everything was great but I got a quote on a piece of aluminum 74″ long and I even brought the old piece and they measured it as 74″ long. They wrote up the order for 72″ and cut it 72″. I had to do an extra retrofit to make it work. And, it did and the outcome was great, but required several hours of modification to use the purchased metal.

I am aware that after the pandemic material prices increased. But on my last purchase prices were extremely high. After that purchase I shopped around and found out that I had paid 25-30 percent above current market value.

I was even shocked at the prices in your left over/scrap section.

Were a small business and we depend on being able to buy products at market value to keep our customers price point satisfied.

I hope that you guys can reevaluate your pricing and bring it into line with current market conditions.

I just learned how to Mig and Stick weld so I could get a rusty truck ready for my son’s upcoming driver’s license. I found metal super store through a random internet search using the DuckDuckGo search engine (I’ve given up on Google). Anyway….I saw that they had a location in Beltsville, MD (which is on my way home from work). I looked on their web site and liked how they advertised about being a large provider of material for small jobs. Their prices were close to 40% cheaper than the HomeDepot for the same angle iron and flat bar stock. I called them and gave the young man a list of the items I wanted. He emailed me the price quote and didn’tind that I modified it twice before settling on the material I wanted. Because of their prices and service, I also bought enough material to make a welding table (for practice). They gave me a 24-hour turn around time. When I drove up, they had everything ready for me and loaded up my truck.

I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. The only recommendation I have would be to work on their web site. Some of it works quite well, and other parts of it are not 100% clear. I’m big on simple/clean interfaces. Other than that, they were fantastic to deal with.
