I truly appreciate the knowledgeable help I had in picking out metal materials for the barbell and the precision with which the metal was cut. You have generous stock of a good variety of materials, and rapid access to other stock. Twice now, you have been able to get an odd size of aluminum round stock that the bigger suppliers couldn’t, and I did not have to wait weeks for it, or require a mill-run !

The metal was soaked in oil but I imagine that’s to prevent corrosion. I got three 8’ pieces but one length was cut 1/8 short, I’ll just adjust my build slightly. Usually metal I’ve purchased comes with a little extra, like a half inch.

Saskatoon Metal Supermarkets service was great. The supplier that cut the metal left non-straight – non perpendicular – jagged edges along the MIC-6 plate. Given it wasn’t critical to have straight edges this was OK. But in the future it would be great if the edges were straight and perpendicular to the other edges.
