Chemical Milling

Removing metal stock by controlled selective chemical etching. It is a method of chemically corroding material to produce blind features like pockets and channels. Once the process is completed, the parts are cleaned thoroughly to avoid further reaction and material removal. Chemical milling is most commonly used in the aerospace industry to remove material from skin panels to reduce weight.
