Theatregoers to be Amazed by 30-ft Flying Bridge For Upcoming ‘The Music Man’ Thanks To Local Metal Supplier

Known for bringing Broadway-quality musical theatre to Atlanta, City Springs Theatre Company (CSTC) plans to entertain theatregoers with the classic musical ‘The Music Man’. Audiences will be amazed by the massive 30-ft bridge production centerpiece designed to fly across the stage thanks to support from the local Metal Supermarkets store in Northwest Atlanta.

Designed by scenic designer Jacob Olson, the CSTC technical team decided that metal would be the best solution to create the bridge that is integral to the production. To bring this structure to life, the City Springs Theatre Company team sought out the professional support of Metal Supermarkets Atlanta (Northwest).

The bridge to be used in ‘The Music Man’ consists of steel-based rectangle tubing that when combined with the rest of the scenery makes a very impressive visual picture for the audience.

“Metal allows our designers to be even more creative for productions in a way that wood doesn’t allow,” said Mike Wood, Director of Production, City Springs Theatre Company. “The staff at Metal Supermarkets are super friendly and professional — they know what they’re doing, and we rely on their expertise.”

After ‘The Music Man’ concludes, the next show for City Springs Theatre will be Disney’s Frozen with curtains set to rise this December. Plans are already in place to continue working with Metal Supermarkets for this theatrical production.
